A Study Of The Phenomenon Of Multiple Uses Of Bronze Ware In The Western Zhou Dynasty

In the Western Zhou Dynasty,the feudal princes were enfeoffed,the etiquette and music were prepared,the grades were strict,the politics and economy developed vigorously.With the culture and custom of the Shang Dynasty were changed,the unique political idea and the ritual system culture of the Zhou people were formed,and the development of the bronze ware was pushed to the climax again.Bronze ritual ware was still a symbol of aristocratic status.However bronze ware changed into a special custom of the Shang Dynasty and there appeared a phenomenon of multiple use of bronze ware in this period.Because of the scattered archaeological data and the lack of documentation before,archaeological community did not study this phenomenon specially although they found this phenomenon.Along with the discovery of many important archaeological sites in the Western Zhou Dynasty,such as Ba Kingdom Cemetery of Shanxi Dahekou,Zeng Kingdom Cemetery of Hubei Suizhou Yejia Mountain,E Kingdom Cemetery of Hubei Yangzi Mountain,etc.,archaeologists have a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of the Zhou culture in the early Western Zhou Dynasty.And the phenomenon of multi-use of one vessel in the Western Zhou Dynasty has gradually revealed the whole picture,which has become a link that can't be ignored and avoided in the study of bronze ware in the Western Zhou Dynasty.Therefore,it is necessary to collect and sort out the phenomenon of multi-use of bronze vessels in the Western Zhou Dynasty by using various theoretical methods of archaeology and to conduct a comprehensive and systematic study on the basis of previous studies.This paper tries to make a comprehensive study of the use system and cultural outlook of bronze ritual ware in the Western Zhou Dynasty.The paper is divided into the follo.wing sections.Chapter 1.Introduction.Determining the research object and the scope of time and space,We explain the purpose of this study and research methods by summarizing and analyzing the previous scholars of the Western Zhou Dynasty bronzes multi-use phenomenon of research status.Chapter 2An Analysis of the types of Multi-use Copper vessels in the Western Zhou Dynasty.First of all.it introduces the discovery of the phenomenon of multi-use of bronze ware in the Western Zhou Dynasty.Then it did typological analysis of selected relatively obvious parts of the evolution sequence of the collected bronze vessels with a multi-purpose phenomenon in the Westerm Zhou period.Chapter 3 Stages and evolution of bronze ware.On the basis of the results of typology analysis of the Western Zhou Dynasty,the multi-use of copper specimens were divided into two stages and six sections.And we sum up and conclude a multi-use phenomenon of the evolution of the law in the Western Zhou Dynasty.Chapter 4 The relationship between the device and the cover.From the three aspects of inscription,literature and archaeological unearthed material,this paper demonstrates the relationship between the multi-purpose tripod and the cover and thinks that the cover of tripod was used by the ancestors to realize the system of the combination and use of the sacrificial utensils for the matching of the tripod and the cover of tripod.Chapter 5 Research on related issues.The author draws viewpoint by demonstrating the above research results of mainly aiming at the relationship between the class of a multiuser,the causes of the phenomenon of multipurpose,the change of the combination of utensils and the extinction of the phenomenon of multi-use of one device.
