Ku-Hungming,who was born in Xiamen,Fujian province,was born from an overseas Chinese family in Malaysia.His life experience is quite legendary,he is good at Chinese and English.In the case of discontent of the western missionaries' translation of James Legge,the first edition of the Analects of Confucius was published in 1898 by the Chinese.Ku-Hungming,who has the high quality about studies of Chinese ancient civilization,the understanding about "Analects of Confucius" is higher than missionaries and sinologists.At the same time,he is also very skilled in using English language.He translated English Analects with a more suitable translation method for Western readers,which has been accepted and loved by Western readers.The English translation of the Analects of Confucius is an insuperable monument in the history of the English translation of the Analects.The article is composed of four parts:The first part is the acceptance of Ku-Hungming's English version of the Analects of Confucius.It mainly collects the publishing and republishing of Ku-Hungming's English translation at home and abroad,and analysis the characteristics of its acceptance and disseminationSo far,the situation of publishing in China has been fluctuating.There are many reasons for this.But in general,it is closely related to the development process of social history,especially with different social and cultural orientation in different historical periods.According to the materials collected by the author,the reprints of the republishes in European and American countries from the initial publication of the material to the beginning of the twenty-first Century are basically a fault.This situation is a question worthy of further discussion.The second and third part is the influence of Ku-Hungming's English version of the Analects of Confucius.The influence of Ku-Hungming's English version on the domestic and European and American countries,centered on Germany,is discussed respectively.It shows that Ku-Hungming's translation has been accepted and recognized by many readers for many years,and plays a certain role in the cultural exchanges between China and the West.The fourth part is the analysis of the causes of the cultural influence of Ku-Hungming's English version of the Analects.The analysis includes three aspects,one is the particularity of Ku-Hungming's cultural heritage,the purpose of translation;the second is the choice of translation strategies,domestication focuses on methods and results;the third is a few groups received a role in such aspects as the starting point,explores the reasons and the cultural influence.While studying the English versions of Ku-Hungming's Analects,this paper also tries to explore Ku-Hungming's personal view of Chinese and Western culture,hope to provide some reference for Chinese teachers' volunteers in developing cultural exchanges between China and the West.
