The English Translation Of "Analects" Culture Dissemination Strategy From The End Of 19th Century To The 20 Century

"The Analects of Confucius" is recorded the Confucius and his disciple works of speech, it has been regarded as the classic representative of the Confucian culture because of its rich cultural connotation. From 1809, the missionary Joshua marshman start to translate "The A cts of Confucius", the work of the translation by the scholars from all over the world s never stop, especially Ku Hungming and British sinologist Arthur Waley’s work, is considered very representative work. Until now, the research for the English versions of the Analects by the domestic and foreign scholars still in progress, it had made some achievements, but in lack of some aspects. According to the author’s collection, it shows that the previous domestic research for the English versions of the Analects mostly concentrated in the translation studies, the translator’s subjectivity research, key words translation and special sentence translation etc, lack of the cultural aspects. This article from the perspective of cultural transmission to Ku Hungming and Waley’s translation as the center, analysis the two translators translation, exploring the cultural communication strategy.
