As a positive work state,work engagement is an important way to achieve organizational effectiveness and employee happiness "win-win".However,the current research on the intervention methods for improving the work engagement is still in its infancy.Mindfulness intervention is a kind of psychological intervention from ancient Oriental meditation,which is widely used to relieve stress,improve positive emotion and improve quality of life.This study discusses whether the online short mindfulness intervention can improve the level of work engagement of participants and the possible mechanism.There are two substudies.In this paper,we study the relationship between the mindfulness and state mindfulness and work engagement,and examine the mediating effect of surface acting.In the study,79 middle school teachers were selected in 10 consecutive working days.Each day,they filled in the state version of mindfulness and attention scale,and the work engagement scale and surface acting scale.Through correlation analysis,it was found that there was a significant positive correlation between mindfulness and state mindfulness at the individual level,with significant negative correlation with surface acting(r=-0.35,p<0.001).At the level of the individual,the state mindfulness was positively correlated with the work engagement,and the surface acting was significantly negatively correlated with the state mindfulness and work engagement.The multi-layered structural equation model has found that the surface acting plays an intermediary role,whether in the individual or in the individual level,in the state of mindfulness or in the characteristic mindfulness.It can be concluded from the study that mindfulness can positively predict the level of teacher’s work engagement,and the surface behavior plays an intermediary role in it.That is to say,for different teachers,so teacher,has the qualities of mindfulness obviously less inclined to use surface acting strategy,which could keep working state investment,and has a higher state of mindfulness of the working day,also can better investment in the work task.For a teacher,he said that during the working days when he felt a lot of mindfulness,he had less use of the surface acting strategy,so that he could better devote himself to the tasks ofcontrol group during this time out of touch with practice.Before the experiment,all the day.The effect of mindfulness practice on work engagement was investigated and the mechanism was further explored.Study recruited 64 high school teachers as participants,using a randomized controlled trial design,subjects were randomly divided into mindfulness intervene group and blank control group,which is read intervention group after 20 working days for 2 times a day for 10 minutes of mindfulness practice,blank participants fill out mindful awareness and attention scale,surface acting scale and work engagement scale as a baseline,during the experiment,all participants fill out daily mindful awareness and attention scale state version,work engagement scale and surface acting scale,complete the diary data collection.It is found that mindfulness practice can significantly improve the positive reading level of the experimental group,reduce the use of surface acting strategies and improve the level of work engagement.However,it was not found that the surface acting was mediating.It can be concluded from the study that mindfulness is the former dependent variable that affects the engagement of work,and mindfulness intervention can effectively improve the engagement level of participants.It can be concluded from the research that there is a positive relationship between mindfulness and work engagement,and mindfulness intervention can effectively improve the level of work engagement of middle school teachers.
