Under the influence of COVID-19,employees’ physical and mental health and behavior are facing many challenges.As an important performance indicator of work performance,it is of great significance for employees and organizations to pay attention to and try to promote work engagement behavior.As an important and cultivable psychological resource,self-compassion has a positive impact on individual behavior and has been paid more and more attention in the field of organization.The purpose of the study is to explore the relationship between employee self-compassion and work engagement and its internal mechanism,as well as to design self-compassion group intervention programs and test their effectiveness.This study consists of two sub-studies.In the first study,questionnaire survey was used to explore the relationship between employee self-compassion and work engagement,and to examine the mediating role of positive emotion and psychological capital.A total of 265 valid questionnaires were collected on the network.The results of correlation analysis and regression analysis showed that there was a significant positive correlation between self-compassion,work engagement,positive emotion and psychological capital among employees,and self-compassion could positively predict work engagement.Positive emotion and psychological capital played a parallel mediating role in the relationship between self-compassion and job engagement,and both of them served as mediating variables to predict work engagement.In study 2,92 subjects were randomly assigned to self-compassion group intervention group(experimental group),active control group and blank control group,self-compassion,work engagement,positive emotion and psychological capital were measured at three measurement points before,after and one month after intervention.Repeated measures analysis of variance showed that,compared with the two groups of control group,self-compassion group intervention effectively improved the level of self-compassion,positive emotion,psychological capital and work involvement,and the intervention effect lasted for one month.This study has enriched the research of self-compassion in the field of organization,promoted the mechanism exploration of self-compassion and work engagement in theory,and provided new ideas and methods for organizations to promote employees’ work engagement through group intervention in practice.
