Guangxi three-swordmen is a famous literature group in Guangxi Province in the 1990s,including Dongxi,Guizi and Lifeng.Deeply influenced by the geographical environment and era background,their novels depict China's current social reality with realism.The dilemma is a common theme in their novels,which consists of the identity dilemma and the dilemma of belonging.In the identity dilemma,the main body's recognition and self-positioning come to a crisis,and in the dilemma of belonging,family and homeland fail to become the final destination.In order to escape from dilemma,people began to seek for self and spiritual home in trouble.Guangxi three-swordmen reflected on the social reality by depicting dilemma,which showed their humanistic care and the spirit of compassion,and played an important role in the GuiJun and the Latest Generation.Had remarkable achievements though,they still need to overcome limitations and go further on the road of literature.The thesis is divided into four chapters:Chapter One analyzes the source of Guangxi three-swordmen's creation,which mainly discusses from two aspects:geographical background and age factors.Living in Guangxi,the edge of China,they were impressed by hard childhood and youth experience,which is the important material in writing.Growing up in the 1960s and starting writing in the 1990s,three writers got the new writing resource from the memory of the Great Cultural Revolution and the social hot problems in the period of social transition.Chapter Two and Chapter Three discuss the dilemma from the subject content.Chapter Two is about the identity dilemma of the characters in the novels.There are two forms of the identity dilemma.One is self-identity dilemma and the other is social identity crisis.The body is the material basis for identification,closely linked to the ontological security,thus has effect on the self-identity.Credentials become more and more important,and even suppress people's subjectivity,so it is a problem to prove one's social identity without documents.Language divides people into groups during the process of social identity,and the marginal people are hard to join the mainstream,which results in social identity crisis.How to realize one's identity has been an important topic for Guangxi three-swordmen.Chapter Three analyzes the problem of the dilemma of belonging.The characters in novels are usually in a broken home,where marriage broke down and family members had no refuge.They are difficult to have their own happy home no matter where they are,so they wander between urban and rural areas,homeless.To get rid of the situation,people embarked on a journey of seeking their fathers and looking for homeland.The dilemma of belonging is not only a problem of looking for shelter,but also a metaphor for the lost spirit of people today.Chapter Four discusses the contemporary significance of Guangxi three-swordmen.The writing of dilemma in their novels is a reflection and summary of reality life.The pursuit in dilemma shows their thinking about life.Both of them have profound practical significance.As leading figures of Guijun,three-swordmen made important contributions to the rise of Guangxi literature,and they showed their own unique style compared with the members of the Latest Generation.Yet three writers need to constantly improve themselves to overcome their own limitations.
