In the highly developed civilized society in the 21st century,feminist thought gradually penetrated all aspects of human life.When the patriarchal society is exposed to the "unspoken rules" of the two-yuan opposition and the subject-object operation World,women,as oppressed parties,are also beginning to resist and criticize it endlessly.In art,feminism is often endowed with vivid images,expressing sadness and anger about the injustice of real society."Contemporary Dance",which corresponds to "Traditional Dance",originates from the dancer's reflection on the present situation of human existence.Since the mother of contemporary dance,Isadora Duncan the idea of "nature is beautiful",the body of a woman who was once closed by classical ballet was opened completely to the world.Since then,contemporary dance has spread rapidly from the United States to Europe and has spawned different genres in the process.Some of the works of female dancers such as Martha Graham,Pina Baucsh,Maggie Marilyn etc.have been used in the contemporary dance to reflect the existence state of self and criticize the position and status of women in society.This paper attempts to analyze the female roles in modern dance dramas by feminist perspective,first to summarize and define feminism,and then elaborate on the fields and beliefs of the main research of feminism.Then,from the different historical conditions of feminism in China and Western countries,it distinguishes the different artistic expression styles.This article will choose both Chinese and Western countries with feminist color of contemporary dance works,according to the classification of the dance characters,analyzing their style of movements,expression and ideological connotation of the female character.Finally,the author summarizes the characteristics of the most vitality and artistic value embodied in contemporary dance of feminism.
