The linguistic style of literary works is the way of thinking reflected by the author in the use of language.For a long time,domestic scholars mostly still study the linguistic style of literary works at the level of qualitative analysis.These studies are often purely theoretical analysis of the research subjects based on a general,abstract,introspective,and lacking of quantitative analysis based on statistical data.And this is not conducive to the scientific and objective study of the linguistic features of literary works.Quantitative stylistics believes that the linguistic features of texts are the expressions of the linguistic features of authors in the writing process.These feature forms,like individual linguistic fingerprints,are the profound reflections of the author's unconscious linguistic style characteristics,and these characteristics can be described by the statistical analysis of the quantitative characteristics in to some extent.Then we can observe and rationally analyze the author's personal language style and speech expression habit.Ge Fei and Yu Hua are representative writers of the avant-garde school.Their literary creation has been deeply influenced by Western modernist literary theories and linguistic ontology,and plays an important role in the contemporary literary innovation of China.At present,the comparative study of Ge fei's and Yu Hua's novels is mostly on the subject thought,narrative art,realistic meaning and aesthetic value of their works,while it is very rare to use quantitative method to study the characteristics of language style based on statistical data.Therefore,this article throughs in-depth analysis the linguistic structure of Ge fei's and Yu Hua's novels based on the qualitative analysis of the predecessors,combines quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis,based on the linguistic perspective and combined with the theories of language style,and tries to use the methods and means of quantitative analysis in mathematical statistics to compares the language styles of Ge fei's and Yu Hua's novels based on the frequency statistics and hypothesis testing.Research indicates:The average word length and average sentence length of Yu Hua's novels are shorter than those of Ge Fei's novels.From the perspective of quantization,it is verified that Yu Hua's novels are more readable and the complexity of the text is lower;in terms of text clustering degree and conf-ormity the overall conformity of Yu Hua's novels is lower than that of non-negative novels.On the level of lexical richness,the lexical richness of Ge fei's novels is higher than that of Yu Hua's novels,indicating that Ge Feifei's rhetoric is rich and diverse;Compared with Yu Hua's novels,there are also great differences in the rhythm of texts,Yu Hua's novels like to use sentences of different lengths and phrases,his arrative language is more passionate,and it has a feeling of fluctuating and ups and downs when reading.However,there are more complex and lengthy sentences in Ge Fei's novels,In addition,the language of his novels are well-proportioned,and it has a feeling of smoothing when reading them;in addition,the novels of the two writers also have a big difference in the use of functional words such as "in","from","and","and","because","yeah".
