American moral psychologist Kaplan systematically proposed a new theory of moral development——dynamic system approach to moral motivation in 2014,which based on the theory of Kohlberg's development stage and combined the theory of dynamic system(DST)and self-determination theory of motivation(SDT).Kaplan integrated moral cognition, moral emotion and moral behavior, and put forward the concept of general moral motivation, thus more clearly and comprehensively explaining the moral phenomenon. This study aims to:(1)revise the moral motivation questionnaire which based on the dynamic system theory, and analyze the reliability and validity of the revised questionnaire;(2)use moral motivation questionnaire as a research tool and 756 middle school students as research subjects to analyze the characteristics of middle school students' moral motivation. The research shows that:(1)the reliability and validity of the questionnaire of middle school students' moral motivation that based on dynamic system theory are in good condition, which is in line with the basic requirements of measurement and is an effective research tool.(2)moral motivation of middle school students has the following characteristics:The stage structure of middle school students' moral motivation is multiple, and its operation has intrapersonal variation. The stage structure has developmental order and heterogeneity; There is difference between the existence of the multi-stage structure and the judgment selection; There are many moral emotions in the process of moral motivation;Emotional awareness was positively correlated with multiple moral judgments, and emotional awareness was significantly related to stage 6.There is gender difference and grade difference in the process of moral motivation. Thus it can be seen that the moral motivation of middle school students is the dynamic development process of self-organization and self-regulation of cognitive and emotional components, and moral judgment and moral behavior occur in this process.
