Research On The Background Of The Construction Of The Labrang Monastery And The Beginning And End Of Its Construction (1636-1721)

Labrang Monastery is located in Xiahe County,Gansu Province,which is known to all the world far and near,Founded in the forty-eighth year of the Qing Dynasty whose emperor is Kangxi(1709).Under the invitation of the former flag prince of Khoshut Mongol,Chakandanjin,the monastery was prepared for construction and built by living Buddha Jiamuyang 1st whose name is E ang Zong Zhe.Based on the financial support of the Mongol Prince and the assistance of all aspects of the Qing government,under the painstaking efforts of the each temple manager,The scale of the monastery is expanding more and more,The strength about the economic,cultural,political and educational all become the top of the group of Ando monastery community.Depending on the complete system of learning,rigorous course of training,the numerous works of eminent monks,the numerous classics and books,and Magnificent monastery buildings,etc.Labrang Monastery became one of the six major monasteries of Gelug sects in Tibetan Buddhism and enjoyed a high religious status.This thesis is based on the area under Labrang region,relying on the background of the temple building of Labrang Monastery,and takes time as the main axis to discuss the beginning and end of the construction and establishment about Labrang Monastery.The first chapter introduces its historical evolution and geographic features,including the basic situation of Labrang Monastery is summarized.In my opinion,the special location at the junction of Gansu Qinghai and Sichuan provinces,and the long inherit of historical evolution are the important reasons for becoming one of the six largest monasteries of the Gelug sects.The second chapter starting with the spread of the Gelug sects in the Gansu region,combined with the competitions of Mongolian and Tibetan about the various political forces at that time,along with the connection between the Mongolian nationality of Heshuote and the Labrang area,to trace back to the historical background of the establishment of Labrang Monastery in all directions.In the third chapter,the details of the construction of the temple are solved,such as the process of the Jiamuyang 1st living Buddha to be invited home to build a temple,the choice question about the location of Labrang Monastery,Rituals and ceremonies in the process of establishment,as well as the development and extension of later period,Opportunities and challenges encountered,and so on.This part makes an in-depth retroactive and systematic analysis of the process of building about Labrang Monastery,and outlines a complete history of the establishment of this temple.The end of the chapter for the conclusion,and reviews the important historical event concerning the establishment of Labrang Monastery.
