Research On Nouns And Nominal Phrases In Xinmin Dialect

According to the Atlas of Chinese Language(2nd Edition)(2012),Xinmin dialect belongs to the Changjin small slice of Northeast Mandarin dialect-Hafu slice.This paper systematically explores nouns and noun phrases in Xinmin dialect on the basis of the typology theory and reference grammar.Apart from the introduction and conclusion,this paper is divided into four chapters.The introduction firstly introduces the general situation of Xinmin City,Secondly,I summarizes the status of the current Northeastern Mandarin grammar research.Afterwards,last section identifies nouns and noun phrases as research objects,explains their meaning and grasps significance of this article.Finally,the research methods,theoretical basis and corpus sources are explained.Chapter 1,describes and explains the special categories,morphology and diminutive of nouns in Xinmin dialect.Firstly,this chapter describes the time words,location words and direction words.Secondly,through analyzing the morphology of nouns,I found that morphology of nouns includes both word formation and configuration form.Finally,this section summarizes the forms and functions of the diminutive and explains the corresponding forms of augmentative.Chapter 2,describes and explains personal pronouns and possessive structure in Xinmin dialect.Firstly,this chapter explains the morphology,syntactic functions and characteristics of various words in personal pronouns.Afterwards,I analyzes the possessive structure without markers and the possessive structure with markers such as the third personal pronouns "tan(?)","ta(?)",demonstrative "zhe(?)","na(?)" and the attributive marker "de(?)".Chapter 3,describes and explains numerals,classifiers and the "numeral+classifi-er+noun" structure in Xinmin dialect.Firstly,this chapter classifies numerals and then sums up the special use of numerals without quantitative meaning.Secondly,I describes the syntactic function of each classifiers after classifing the measure words and classifiers.Finally,this section analyzes the characteristics and usage of the derivative forms of the "numeral+classifier+noun",including the structures of "yi(?)+ classifier+noun","classifier+noun" and "yi(?)+noun".Chapter 4,describes and explains demonstrative and the "demonstrative+classifi-er+noun" structure in Xinmin dialect.Firstly,this section elaborates the pronunciation,syntactic functions,characteristics of various forms derived from demonstrative.Afterwards,I not only illustrate the forms,syntactic and pragmatic functions of the "demonstrative+classifier+noun" structure,but explain the use of the definite article of the "demonstrative+noun" structure as well.The conclusion summarizes the overall use of nouns and noun phrases in Xinmin dialect,then points out the shortcomings of this paper.
