The Image Schema Study Of The Noun Component Of Time Meaning In Modern Chinese

The study of time has always been a hotspot in various fields,and the study of time words in linguistics has also been widely concerned.In the study of time expression,scholars have made some achievements in the analysis of tense and aspect,the discussion of related words and phrases,and the study of temporal-spatial relations and their metaphors.In this paper,by using the methods of literature research,description and interpretation,qualitative and quantitative,and combining with the corpus of relevant corpus,the nominal components of temporal meanings in temporal words are studied through image-schema theory.From the perspective of cognitive linguistics,this paper analyses the specific image schema embodied in the understanding of time concept through space in human cognition,explores the categories of the image schema expressing time noun and phrase,analyses the attributes of the image schema types,and the types of image schema of the time noun and phrase are explained in a cognitive way.This paper is divided into two parts.The first part is the introduction part.The existing research results on the classification of time noun and phrase are sorted out from four aspects of grammar,semantics,pragmatics and cognition,basic clear classification of the existing achievements of about time noun and phrase.The second part is the body part,chapter three main points in time noun and phrase of image schema is studied.The first chapter analysis time noun and phrase image schema types,discusses the meaning of words in the four dimensions to present time out of the 8 types of image schema,respectively is the point of absolute zero dimension schemata and relative points,the path of one dimensional space and balance,part of the two-dimensional space,the overall and of link,and three-dimensional static container and dynamic container schema,according to the different types of image schema time noun and phrase are classified.The second chapter on the image schema the characteristics of time noun and phrase is analyzed,This paper analyses the characteristics of the image schema of temporal nouns in four aspects: absoluteness and relativity,accuracy and fuzziness,single direction and continuous direction,dominant symmetry and invisible symmetry,reflecting the characteristics of time noun and phrase.The third chapter illustrates the division of image schema of time noun and phrase types in terms of cognitive,using metaphor,metonymy,referential principles,bounded and unbounded four theory in cognitive linguistics,image schema of time noun and phrase specific analyzed and discussed.
