J.Hillis Miller's concept of literary interpretation is embodied in his many works of critical theory.This paper mainly studies his literary interpretation conceptin the deconstructionist stage.It narrates the source and strategy,method,purpose,value and limit of his theory respectively.In the first part of this paper,the sources of his explanatory strategies are sorted out.New Criticism,the influence of Geneva School and the formation of his theory of rhetorical reading are summarized respectively.The second part of this paper focuses on Miller's deconstruction method.He focus on rhetorical analysis of language,surface changes,etymological tracing,etc.And he think that the semantics have definitely boundary.He has always maintained a habit of inherent reading on the basis of insisting on careful reading.The third part of this paper describes the purpose of deconstruction.It is clear that the purpose of deconstruction lies not only in the deconstruction of the original meaning of the text,but also in the construction of meaning,which is the fundamental purpose of its interpretation concept.And we should realize the construction of his deconstruction view.The fourth part of this paper discusses the value of deconstructionism.Then we discusses the limitation of Miller's literary hermeneutic concept,which is also the focus of this chapter.In order to grasp Miller's theory of literary criticism as a whole and deeply,this paper systematically combs Miller's concept of literary interpretation.
