| The main melody film is a unique landscape in Chinese films.Since its introduction in the late 1980s,it has assumed the function of promoting mainstream ideology.In today's booming film market,how the main melody film achieves a balance between commercialism and politics is a matter of concern.Since 2009,the main melody film has officially entered the audience's perspective with a new look-"The main melody blockbuster." In particular,it is worth noting that currently,the main melody films have risen in the form of "military action films."In other wors,military-themed films with the feature of action film are typical cases of current main melody films balancing commercial and political power in the process of industrialization.This new film culture phenomenon shows that they are telling the revolutionary history and contemporary military stories tactically.On one hand,they try to pursue commercial success.On the other hand,they are also in line with the state ideology.The issue studied in this thesis is:In the context of the continuous deepening of the film industrialization,what kind of ideological expression strategies the military-themed films have adopted to reconcile commercial power with political power,and ultimately participate in the construction of the mainstream ideology.Specifically,how did they emerge in the dual context of commercialization and politics?Which ideological expression strategies are used in film texts to balance commercial demands with political functions?What implications does these strategies have for the construction of the current state of ideology?This thesis focuses on the military film with main melody feature in the process of film industrialization from 2009 to 2017,and attempts to explore the military film with main melody feature in the dual context of commercialism and politics by combining the method of literature research,text analysis and case study.It firstly analyzed the reasons for the rise of films of this category,and then explores the ideological expression strategies in film text,eventually discussed its significance for the development of future films.The study found that in terms of film production,the commercial dynamics is mainly reflected in industrial restructuring,the rise of young audiences,and the Hong Kong directors'“go north”action.In the wave of film industrialization,more and more private enterprises have risen,the production of the main melody films once dominated by national studios have began to open to the private capital.With the development of cinema construction in more and more towns,“Youngsters in the town”has become the main force for box office growth,stimulating box office of action films.Hong Kong filmmakers have helped to enrich military film from the level of production and creation.From a political point of view,on one hand,the relevant government agencies have been actively involved in the production of military films,and have relaxed their examination of certain films,which used to be more strict.At the same time,they have also adopted other methods such as grants and awards.providing support for the films.In addition,at the film text level,revolutionary historical film have been used the tactlics of "revolutionary historical military" spectacle narrative,youth narrative and ritual narrative to achieve the purpose of stitching history and reality.The“modern military spectacle”narrative,super-heroic narrative and international narrative of contemporary military film show a kind of imagination of a great country.In general,the military-themed films of the second decade of the new century have increasingly demonstrated the country's cultural self-confidence.This is not only reflected in the more tolerant view represented in the historical film,but also in the contemporary military affairs displayed in certain films.The active exhibition of national image,at the same time,also need to guard against the absence of real history and the criticism of cultural imperialism. |
