The Attica region is rich in minerals,and the Laurion Silver Mine has long been known as the most prominent representative.Around the 5th century BC,the Laurion Silver Mine entered a high-yield period,and the abundant resources brought huge profits to the Athens city-states of this period and became one of its most important economic sources.The stability of the economy has further promoted the development of Athens in culture and politics and laid a solid foundation for the splendid classical civilization.The Laurion Silver Mine brings infinite scenery to the Athens city-state,but these are not belong to the labor in those mines.For most Athenians and now,the Laurion Silver Mine is both a familiar and unfamiliar place.People know the rich profits of silver mining,and understand that the mining slaves who work day and night live a very miserable life.But many of the other contents of these silver mines are little known.In addition to the age,the relevant texts are rarely written,and many details are difficult to verify.However,with the help of later studies and related archaeological materials,in the first part of this article,we will briefly introduce the mining production in the Laurion region,focusing on the production organization and personnel composition in the Laurion Silver Mine,and strive to understand mining production and the work of mining slaves.In the discussion of mining production personnel,we will focus on the interpretation of mining slaves.We know that any individual or group in society will be affected by the society.Athens in the classical period was a typical hierarchical society,and members of society were divided among their respective classes.The slave group is a large class in which there is a small class.In the second part of this article,we will analyze the social situation of a small class such as mining slaves,focusing on its differentiation and positioning within the slave class.In the third part,we will explore this group from a larger perspective: how the performance of the slave group in the entire mobile society,and what characteristics of mining slaves.Through a series of proofs,we try to understand the real social situation of mining slaves.
