Visual poetry is a distinctive category of poetry,and its creation in the Chinese and western poetry circles can be traced back to a very early period.However,the study of visual poetry has been limited to western visual poetry and ancient Chinese visual poetry,modern Chinese visual poetry received little attention.In modern Chinese visual poetry,there are many symbolic elements,symbol deformations and symbol combination,which are quite different from the common modern poetry.This also makes the encoding and decoding of modern Chinese visual poetry relatively complex.These three main aspects are rarely involved in the existing studies.Therefore,it is necessary to study modern Chinese visual poetry systematically.In this paper,after summarizing the relevant research status of the concept of object genus,a closed research is carried out on the collected objects.Specific analysis will be carried out from the following three aspects:Firstly,the formal structure of modern Chinese visual poetry.In this part,this paper summarizes the collected modern Chinese visual poetry,studies the existing symbol element,symbol element deformation and combination,and introduces the complexity of modern Chinese visual poetry in terms of form and structure.Secondly,the coding of modern Chinese visual poetry.This paper selects two groups of concepts-representativeness and abstraction,dynamic quality and static quality,which are representative in the coding of modern Chinese visual poetry,and puts them in pairs.This part first summarizes the influence of Chinese and western visual poetry on the encoding form of modern Chinese visual poetry,then analyzes four important coding forms in modern Chinese visual poetry from the perspective of wholeness,and puts forward the continuum forms of two groups of concepts combined with specific poetry,and summarizes the various possibilities of coding modern Chinese visual poetry.Thirdly,the decoding of modern Chinese visual poetry.Decoding is one of the most frequently involved contents in the related research of visual poetry,but most of the previous studies directly present the decoding results of visual poetry,and some analysis of the decoding process is also based on the retrospective statement of decoding results.Therefore,from the perspective of metaphor and metonymy,this paper attempts to decode modern Chinese visual poetry by means of pragmatic reasoning based on relevance theory and illustrate the detailed process of understanding poetry metaphor and metonymy,and proposes the metaphorical metonymy continuum in the decoding process.Through the study of the form structure of modern Chinese visual poetry and its encoding and decoding,we can see the difference between it and the general Chinese modern poetry,and we can also see some of its neglected value in previous studies.Modern Chinese visual poetry is a special and meaningful existence.There are still many unknown possibilities in its future creation,which is worth further study.
