A Preliminary Exploration Of Yu Xingwu's Research Paradigm Of Yixue

Since the strategy of “Ban from numbers of philosophies and commend Six Classics” was implemented,Zhouyi's position had been highlighted in the official academic.From the Western Han dynasty to Qing dynasty,Zhouyi was always in the position of “the first of Six Classics” and “the original of Five Classics”.Many scholars have paid great attention to Zhouyi in any dynasties,thus forming a large and complicated group called Yi-ology.According to the different research methods of Zhouyi,there are four kinds of research paradigms,namely,Yi interpreted by images and numbers,Yi interpreted by philosophical connotations,Yi interpreted by hexagram and divination and Yi interpreted by exegesis.Among them,Yi interpreted by images and numbers is represented by Meng Xi and Yu Fan.Yi interpreted by philosophical connotations is represented by Wang Bi and Cheng Yi.Yi interpreted by hexagram and divination is represented by Zhu Xi.Yi interpreted by exegesis is represented by Wang Niansun and Wang Yinzhi.On the shoulder of the wangs,Yu Xingwu was devoted to Yi interpreted by exegesis.He researched the original meaning of Yi-images in many ways,like emendating the sentences and phrases,reading and recording cases,taking the Zhouwen as evidence,investigating to voice of interchangeability.Then,he wrote a book named “SHUANGJIANYI YIJING XINZHENG”.Yu Xingwu always got to the root of Zhouyi,used ancient evidences to prove ancient ideas in his studies.On the basis of the manner “go into classics through the gate of exegesis”,he broke through historical limitations of Puxue in Qing dynasty,used archaeological materials directly in his Yi-ology.He learned widely from others' strong points,neither rely on Hanxue nor Songxue in his research paradigm of Zhouyi.Yu Xingwu was well-informed and suspended his judgment on things in doubt.His Yi-ology was neither by images or numbers nor philosophical connotations.He sought truth from the facts in every aspect.As Yu Xingwu's Yi-ology is a microcosm of hermeneutics of classics,the author tried to make a preliminary study on the research paradigm of Yu Xingwu's Yi-ology in this thesis.It can expand the interpretation space and interpretation dimension and diversify the research methods of Chinese philosophy.
