As an indispensable part of the modern education system,the value of English for national talent cultivation has become a consensus among many people.The Chinese-foreign cooperative teaching model that is used in domestic teaching institutions has been accepted by the experts in the field of English education.Its remarkable interactive space of English culture,the brand-new ways of communication between Chinese and foreign teachers and students,and the contagious effect of improving students’ English learning skills have exerted a subtle influence on the traditional one-way English teaching model.However,in reality,the research on Chinese and foreign teachers’ cooperative teaching lacks systematicness,standardization and positivism,so it is difficult to provide valuable reference for the teaching activities in schools.Therefore,it is necessary to improve the process and strategies of such cooperation and optimize the specific operational methods to promote the effectiveness of Chinese-foreign English teaching cooperation.In this paper,the main research methods include literature,investigation and case study methods.They are used to analyze and research from many aspects.The whole paper is divided into three parts.Chapter One mainly touches on foreign teachers,middle school English teaching and the roles of foreign teachers in Chinese-foreign cooperative teaching,and the necessity of carrying out Chinese-foreign cooperative teaching mode in middle school English teaching,aimed at determining the scientificity and feasibility of this study.At the same time,it takes Yancheng G Middle School as an example,combing the course and practice of cooperative teaching between foreign language teachers and summarizing the characteristics and experiences of cooperative teaching.Chapter Two expounds the situation of cooperative teaching between foreign and Chinese English teachers by means of questionnaires and interviews.Then it analyses and sums up the problems of cooperative teaching according to the results of questionnaires and interviews.Chapter Three employs the problems reflected in the Chinese-foreign cooperative English teaching in Yancheng G Middle School and the relevant theories of Chinese-foreign cooperation to put forward the strategies to improve Chinese-foreign cooperative English teaching from the aspects of cooperation consciousness,motivation of Chinese-foreign cooperation,training assistance and cooperation mode.Through the research on the teaching situation of Chinese-foreign English cooperation in Yancheng G Middle School,the author finds that the Chinese-foreign cooperative teaching model has significantly improved the students’ performance and stimulated their interest in learning,but there also exist some problems such as poor communication,poor teaching modes and coordination,and poor adaptability of foreign teachers.In view of the problems existing in cooperative teaching,the following cooperation strategies are continuously improved.Firstly,we should improve the interactivity between teachers and teachers and students,enhance the soft power of foreign teachers,strengthen teachers’ training,and organize some salon activities to enhance the communication with foreign teachers.Secondly,we should integrate the teaching concept and enhance the psychological reconciliation ability of both teachers.In the mutual communication of Chinese and foreign teachers,they will jointly promote the progress of mutual understanding in order to jointly achieve the goal of improving the students’ English learning ability.We should strengthen the skills and synergy of both teachers,and provide a certain platform for them to display their own skills so that they can really realize the goal of optimizing each other’s skills and achieving their common progress,and ultimately bring their skills together.What’s more,we should consolidate the working status of foreign teachers by means of helping them understand Chinese teaching methods,our learning foreign teachers’teaching views actively and changing the concept of cooperation.
