A Study On The Tone And Vowel Pattern Of The Dialect In Zhuanghe Urban Area

Zhuanghe City is a county-level city in Dalian,Liaoning Province.it is located in the southeast of Liaodong Peninsula and northeast of Dalian.The Zhuanghe dialect belongs to the Yanwei dialect,part of the Denglian dialect which are both from the Jiaoliao official dialect.in the summer of 2017,the author was fortunate enough to participate in the "Chinese Language Resource Protection Project Survey of the Liaoning Chinese Dialect·Zhuanghe" project hosted by my tutor.During the investigation,it was found that the Zhuanghe dialect is very complicated and can be divided into four districts,which is worthy for further study and there is little specific research on the urban dialect of Zhuanghe City.On the basis of the language protection project,this paper selects 8 speakers from Zhuanghe City with different genders and different ages as the objects of this survey.This paper summarized the the the tone pattern,the vowel pattern and the appearance of the urban dialect of Zhuanghe City through the systematically analysis of the tones and vowels of the urban dialect of Zhuanghe City using the fundamental frequency normalization method based on the fundamental frequency and the rhythm data of each speaker extracted by the Praat software through the method of experimental phonetics.The features provide a reference for the Dialect Chronology of Zhuanghe City and the experimental study of the Jiaoliao official dialect in Liaoning Province.The paper mainly consists five parts,of which the third and the fourth part are the priorities.The first part is the introduction.The first part is the introduction of the geographical location of and the humanities information of Zhuanghe City.The second part is the integration of status of the current research of Jiaoliao official dialect and the urban dialect of the Zhuanghe City from the perspectives of traditional phonetics and experimental phonetics.in the final part is the statement for the contents of the research,the survey method and the significance of the research.The second part is the sound system of the dialect of Zhuanghe City and the systematical summarization of the initial consonants,the finals and the the tone system based on the phonetic materials spoken by the 8 speakers,heard and recorded by the author on the field investigation.The urban dialect of Zhuanghe City has 19 initials(including zero initials),37 finals and 3 tunes.in addition is the statement for the phonology of the urban dialect of Zhuanghe City.The third part is about the tone pattern,which is mainly used to analyze the urban dialect of Zhuanghe City from the perspective of pitch.First is to obtain the five-degree value of the urban dialect of Zhuanghe City based on the normalization of the acoustic data such as the fundamental frequency value of the phonetic material of the 8 speakers which were recorded and extracted previously.Through the analysis,the combination with the previous research results and the analysis results of the language protection project,the tunes of the urban dialect of Zhuanghe City are summarized as:Pingsheng 51,Shangsheng 213,Qushengi 442,and Qusheng2 341.The fourth part is about the vowel pattern.From the perspective of the vowel acoustic map,the acoustic vowel chart is drawn by taking the first formant F1 of the vowels as the ordinate and the second formant F2 of the vowels as the abscissa.Then we can tell through the normalized V-value Chart of the first level vowels that there are four high vowels[i],[(?)],[u]and[y],two medium vowels[(?)]and[(?)],one low vowels[a],two front vowels[i]and[y],3 central vowels[(?)],[(?)],[(?)]and two post-vowels[a],[u]in the urban dialect of Zhuanghe City while the[(?)]and[(?)]present a trend of confluence and the[a]is backing off from the central vowels.
