A Comparative Study Of "Reader's Choice" And The Selection System Of Chinese Textbooks Compiled By The Ministry Of My Country

On the background of the new era,we should not only maintain the advantages of our traditional culture but also obtain enlightenment and experience from other culture.Therefore,learning other countries’ experience is also necessary in language and literature teaching.《Reader’s choice》 is the official textbook of literature in most junior high schools of California.Can we gain some enlightenment from this teaching material? This paper chose the textbook published by the experimental people’s Education Publishing House of Compulsory education curriculum standard and《Reader’s Choice》to compare.And I look forward to seeking some constructive enlightenment for our teaching material.This paper mainly conclude three parts besides introduction and conclusion.The first chapter,the education standards of teaching materials of these two editions.Our junior high school follows the 《 The compulsory education course standards(2011 edition)》.And America adopts the 《Common Core State Standards Initiative》.Although there are many kinds of teaching system and teaching material in different states,all the course and editing of teaching materials will follow this standard by law besides Delaware.There for this comparison is significant for us.The second chapter is the comparison of Chinese and American junior middle school Chinese textbooks.This chapter of the two edition of the selection of teaching materials,capacity and space,text genre,text author and other aspects of the comparative study.We can see the deep root cause through the analysis.The third chapter is the enlightenment that can be explored for the comparison and analysis.The goal of comparison isn’t to decide which textbook is better or worse,but to learn more significant enlightenment through the analysis.《Reader’s choice》obviously has many merits,but it also has many disadvantages.
