College English teaching,as the continuation and development of middle school English teaching,is an important part of the public curriculum system in colleges and universities.With the development of higher education,the number of students in colleges and universities is expanding day by day,and the difference of students' level is becoming more and more obvious.Traditional teaching mode exposes its shortcomings gradually,such as the inability to meet students' individualized learning needs.In order to alleviate the pressure of teaching and improve the quality of teaching,the concept of graded teaching has been introduced into the teaching system of colleges and universities.The implementation of college English graded teaching mode conforms to the idea of teaching students in accordance with their aptitude.This mode meets the students' learning needs to a certain extent,and makes English teaching more individualized and humanized.However,there are still some problems to be solved urgently in the process of grading teaching management.The research on the management in graded teaching of college English is helpful to the realization of the goal in colleges and universities,cultivate talents.And it can promote the development and perfection of teaching management in colleges and universities.The purpose of this study is to investigate the management problems in the implementation of college English graded teaching,and to put forward corresponding optimization paths to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of gradede teaching management.Firstly,this study combs the research results of graded teaching management,English graded teaching and college English graded teaching.It starts from three aspects of college English graded teaching management: teaching plan management,teaching operation management and teaching evaluation management.The investigation of students is carried out from these three aspects.Then,the writer grasps the views and opinions of students and teachers on the management of graded teaching of College English in the form of interviews.Through questionnaires and interviews,this study finds the following problems in the current graded teaching management of college English:(1)The lack of rationality in the teaching plan,which is reflected in the lack of fairness in the curriculum design in accordance with students' characteristics and credit setting;(2)The uneven quality of the teaching staff,which is reflected in two aspects: the attitudeof some teachers to be improved and the teaching management has been inadequate;(3)The management of students.Low efficiency is reflected in three aspects: loose management of student attendance,imperfect management system of student mobility and insufficient management of students' autonomous learning;(4)The standardization and scientificity of students' performance evaluation need to be improved,which is reflected in two aspects: slightly inadequate function of summative evaluation and unreasonable comprehensive evaluation method.According to the research results,it is suggested to improve the existing problems by optimizing the following ways:(1)Innovating teaching management concepts,including establishing people-oriented teaching management concepts,defining the training objectives of graded teaching and attaching importance to the management efficiency of graded teaching process;(2)Strengthening the overall management of curriculum construction,including the integration of curriculum content,learning objectives,credit allocation and selection of teaching materialst;(3)Strengthen the training of teachers,including the construction of teachers' morality and professional accomplishment.It is suggested that the training of graded teachers should be strengthened through special lectures,short-term training and learning through intercollegiate exchanges;(4)Standardize the student management system,including properly enhancing the mobility between classes of graded teaching,strengthening the management of students' autonomous learning,strengthening the discipline management of students;(5)Improve the evaluation system,including reasonable setting of examination difficulty and enhancing the rationality of performance evaluation.
