Pingjiang buxiaosheng constructed a "world of rivers and corners" in his novels,which made the martial arts novels of the republic of China completely get rid of the pattern of chivalry case novels of the qing dynasty,and opened a new chapter of modern martial arts novels.There have been comprehensive studies on the connotation of "modernity" in his wuxia novels,but there are few specific studies on the "jianghu world" of his wuxia novels,which is not in line with its position in the history of wuxia novels,and the deep excavation of the "jianghu world" of his wuxia novels needs to be continued.This paper tries to put the "jianghu world" in wuxia novels into the whole history of wuxia novels,by discussing the origin and characteristics of the "jianghu world" in the history of wuxia novels,and combing the development of the "jianghu world" in different times,so as to highlight the uniqueness of the "jianghu world" in the social transformation period.By means of comparative study,this paper analyzes the special form and value type of "jianghu world" in his wuxia novels,and further discusses the social background of the formation of this unique "jianghu world",presenting its "original ecological" appearance and unique literary value.From the initial geographical term to the cultural term with symbolic meaning,and then to the narrative space in the wuxia novels with cultural text,the "world of lakes and lakes" in wuxia novels has gone through a long process.The free "river’s lake" which embodies the dream of "peach source" fits the characteristics of Chinese traditional ranger spirit.The "jianghu world" in wuxia novels of different ages has its own characteristics,from the "hermit’s world" in the tang dynasty legends to the "realistic jianghu world" in the "water margin" in the Ming and qing dynasties,and the "jianghu world" in the classical wuxia novels reaches the peak of art.However,the convergence of chivalrous crime novels in the late qing dynasty and early republic of China greatly reduced the independence of the "world around the world" in wuxia novels,and the artistic value was destroyed.The rise of swordsman novels in 1920 s is not a continuation of chivalrous crime novels.Liang qichao and other advanced intellectuals at the end of qing dynasty and the beginning of republic of China,because they felt the difficulty of the Chinese revolution,drew lessons from the revolutionary experience of Japan,Europe and other countries and stirred up a trend of martial arts.Deeply influenced by the culture of The Times,unshapely got rid of the pattern of chivalrous crime novels,reshaping the chivalrous spirit with "national consciousness" and promoting the transformation of the whole literary modernity.With the rise of modern media,the professionalization of writers and the drive of economic benefits,wuxia novels "return from elegance to vulgarity" show the trend of interest and secularization.Based on the close reading of the text,according to the credibility of "jianghu world",the "jianghu world" in unshapen wuxia novels is divided into two categories: fantasy "jianghu world" and reality "jianghu world".Unshakable students construct a fantasy "world of rivers and lakes" by means of anecdotes with folk customs.Swordsman possesses supernatural magic,which expands the legendary space of swordsman novels and at the same time highlights the individual’s desire for free space after suffering oppression in a special age.Strange and fantastic folk tales awaken the remote folk memories of ordinary citizens,and the strangeness of folk customs satisfies readers’ reading interest.The voodoo witchcraft and grotesque rumors in the fantasy "world of rivers and corners of the world" seem absurd,but behind it lies a more absurd social reality.Due to the lack of social legal system,the contradiction between "might" and "right" cannot be solved,so the weak and weak can only pray for "gods of the east China sea" to rescue them and expose irony to the dark reality.In the realistic "river’s lake world","river’s lake" is no longer an ideal place for "peach garden dream",but a refracted metaphor for the real society.The ideal personality of traditional "swordsmen" is ruthlessly deconstructed and reconstructed impetuous,bound by human feelings and anxious for livelihood,they realized the transformation from flat figure to round figure.In the realistic "river world",the boundary between "true" and "false" becomes blurred,and the value of "good will defeat evil" is ruthlessly challenged,with a distinct dystopian color.Abandoning the "kingdom" and turning to "rivers and rivers" makes the complicated contradictory relationship of "politics/morality" in traditional chivalrous novels no longer exist.Instead,the concept of "state" with modern significance emerges,which promotes the modern transformation of the whole literary genre.The realistic "river and lake world" presents the individual’s living predicament and tragic fate,which greatly enhances the modern aesthetic meaning of the novel.The individual is small and fragile in the face of fate and history.Huo yuanjia’s tragic ending just constitutes the reflection and questioning of enlightenment modernity.When constructing the fantasy world and the reality world,the narrative attitude is ambiguous.The authenticity of the fantasy "world of rivers and corners" emphasizes and the fantasy pursuit of the realistic "world of rivers and corners".The essence of the contradiction and entanglement is the thorough irony of the ruthless disclosure of "decadent morality",which continues the consistent "social condemnation technique".Different from the "weak and ambiguous bottom line" condemned by the late qing dynasty,the "moral imagination" expressed in the unshakable "all corners of the world" is a continuation of the "poetic justice" of traditional Chinese literary theory.The purely folk standpoint of "the world of the world" establishes the free and independent spirit of swordsmen,expands the legendary space of swordsmen novels,and profoundly influences the later swordsmen creation.But at the same time,driven byeconomic profit,his novels inevitably show a tendency of kitsch.
