In dance works, form and content are a group of indivisible whole. The content is the objective social life or objective and natural performance on the stage,as well as the subjective feelings and evaluation of the creators.A good choice of form and content must embody the consideration of the director's creation, the actor's performance and the audience's aesthetics. In terms of the relationship between the two,the author believes that form and content are in a relationship of "love" with each other. There is no work with only form but no content.Even if it is the pure movement attempt made by the formalist dancers,as long as the created work enters the stage and enters the audience's aesthetic category,it is inevitable for the audience to find the meaning from the work.At the same time, the author emphasizes that there is no difference between form and content, and it is not the relationship between leading and being led.The creation process of the creator is only his own creation habit, which has certain contingency and uncertainty. Both content first and form first are only a matter of time for "confession" successively. There is no relationship between high and low,so there is no relationship between "service" and "served".Form and content should be interdependent and unified with each other, which is a kind of relationship between fear and destruction.Only in this way can we have the opportunity to create relatively unique and complete dance works. This paper will take the work "dark flow" as an example and apply my own learning experience to dance creation,so as to continuously practice and explore. The purpose is to continuously obtain further understanding and application of the relationship between form and content in the process of creation.
