The Aesthetic Epochal Study Of Character Modeling In Stop Motion Animation

The twentieth century is a period of vigorous development of stop motion animation.The stop motion animation of this period is dominant in the animation market.As the quality of 2D and 3D animations continues to increase,the number of stop motion animations has gradually decreased.Nowadays,not only are there many fixed animation works in China,but also the number of stop animations in the major animation markets of Europe,America and Japan,and most commercial works have problems such as younger age,less attractive audiences,and less obvious characteristics of the times.Therefore,exploring the era of stop-motion animation is of great significance to the future of stop-motion animation in China.This paper starts from the following aspects,and gradually studies the era of the character of the stop-motion animated character.The article is divided into six parts: overview,stop animation and era,the characteristics of fixed-frame animated characters in different eras,the aesthetic trend of commercial stop-motion animated characters,and the thinking and conclusion in creation.The first chapter discusses the basic characteristics of stop motion animation and the importance of character modeling in commercial stop motion animation.The second chapter introduces the concept of the times,and based on the "Island of the Dog",explains the reflection of the character of the character in the design of character modeling.The third chapter is the focus of this paper.It lists the most representative classic commercial stop-motion animation works in Europe,America,Japan and China,and summarizes the aesthetic characteristics of the character styling in each period.Through the enumeration and comparison of these works,the changes in the aesthetic characteristics of the commercial stop-motion animated characters are summarized.The fourth chapter summarizes the aesthetic changes of the character shape of commercial stop-motion animation under the change of the times.The five chapters summarize the full text of commercial stop-motion animation to obtain a larger market,should reflect the unique characteristics of the times,reflect on social phenomena,and can be integrated with emerging technologies to keep pace with the times.
