In the United States in the 20th century, there was a great painter. He was Andrew wise.He inherited and developed the American tradition of regionalism in painting, and his works have been collected by major art museums around the world. And it was such a painter,he actually had no formal academic education, even did not finish primary school. He had been living in a remote village in the United States, where he was born, married and had children. He seldom went out of the village and hardly communicated with the outside world. So what kind of experience makes such a great painter? This paper traces the origin of wise's artistic style and unique personality charm by means of rhetorical questions, and analyzes the traditionality and originality of his works as well as his profound influence on Chinese oil painters.
