Research On Wen Boren's "Ten Scenery Of Gusu"

Wen Boren,a nephew of Wen Zhengming,was one of the greatest achievements of the Wen family after Wen Zhangming.Starting from his Book of the Ten Scenic Maps of Gusu,this paper mainly uses research methods such as social history,image analysis and comparison,and focuses on the creation background,creative content,style characteristics,artistic value and influence of the book to carry out the inquiry.Firstly,we discuss the background of the creation of the Book of the Ten Scenic Maps of Gusu.In the mid-period of the Ming dynasty,Suzhou area formed a social ethos centered on regional consciousness,and paintings with Suzhou landscape as the theme began to appear.Wen Boren followed his uncle Wen Zhengming to learn to draw,and most of paining were landscape paintings,which laid the groundwork for drawing the Book of the Ten Scenic Maps of Gusu.Secondly,starting from the content of the specific painting in the Book of the Ten Scenic Maps of Gusu,it was divided into 10 copies,which was retrospectively describing the scenic spots in Suzhou in different seasons.They are the Night Moon of Tiger Mountain,the Cool Summer of Changlang,the Boat Race in Xu River,Dengwei Ornamental Plum Trees,Spring Dawn in Zhinxing,Night Boating in Stone Lake,Pagoda Brings Happiness and Good Luck,Lights on Fishing Boats in Jiangcun,the Snow in Lingyan.Before Wen Boren,Wen Zheng-Ming,Shen Zhou and others had painted paintings on similar subjects,and had an impact on Wen Boren's selection of topics.In the Book of the Ten Scenic Maps of Gusu,on the basis of the painting techniques of Wen Zhengming,Shen Zhou,Wang Meng and Mi Fu,Wen Boren formed his own composition pattern.Finally,the Book of the Ten Scenic Maps of Gusu was Wen Boren's early works,and the completion time was about 1555.Meanwhile,It was speculated that the Book of the Ten Scenic Maps of Gusu was drawn to cater to the market,and has an influence on Zhang Hong,Yuan Shangtong,Li Liufang and Wu men.All in all,Wen Boren's Book of the Ten Scenic Maps of Gusu not only inherits the pen and ink skills of the famous writers in the Song and Yuan dynasties,but also pushes forward the old and bring forth new ideas,It's a regional real landscape painting in the masterpiece.
