From Poetic Imagination To Logical Expression

"Eryu" is a Guzheng concerto created by young composer Ruan Sisi in 2014.This concerto ingeniously absorbs and applys some musical elements from minorities in Southwestern China,and integrates smoothly into modern composition skills,which enables "Eryu" to carry some folk style of minorities and also fit the modern audience's aesthetic taste.The existance of "Eryu" can inspire and advance the composition of new Guzheng works and their relative researches in the future.From the perspective of the premiere performer of "Eryu",this thesis makes an in-depth study and analysis of the creative characteristics,structure,performance skills,and humanistic connotation of "Eryu" through the research methods of the desk study,composer interviews,and literature review,combined with premiere performer's own performance experience."Eryu" is divided into three chapters.This thesis objectively analyzes the creative characteristics and structure of the "Eryu";combined with study of performance techniques,focuses on Eryu's expresions of music and imagery with both emotional and rational qualities and discusses the author's understanding and inspiration of this work.
