The term “space” exists in many disciplines,such as including geography,science,astronomy and others.The spatiality is reflected in a particular pattern as Enjoyable Bird and Flower Paintings.It is a kind of space construction which is constructed by images---from the physical space which contains balance,interacting,and comparison,to the spiritual world which contains sense association,metaphor and artistic conception.This paper takes the vertical development process of traditional enjoyable Bird and Flower Paintings as the reference,makes a horizontal comparison of the concept of space in Western painting,trys to research and discuss the spatiality of enjoyable Bird and Flower Paintings,in ordering to cognize the value behind the physical space and the spiritual world.This paper focuses on discussing the space construction ideology of the painting drawn by BaDaShanRen,pseudonym of Zhu Da(??),a famous painter of the Ming Dynasty,takes the composition of picture space as the entry point,teases out a valuable clue from spatial metonymy and metaphor to the spatial timeliness of the object representation,and the mental imagery beyond space.This paper hopes to find a new possibility in creating of contemporary enjoyable bird and flower paintings,and to further comprehend the meaning of"Chinese painting methods with the Era".This spiritual pursuit of the meaning of time significance,is the value to suggest exploring beyond the images and behind the images,or rather,the cultural connotations signified.
