A Study Of Japanese Communication In The Wang Pseudo-zone From The Perspective Of Language Imperialism

During the known history of research,linguistic imperialism has been applied to the study of English language spread.It is mostly aimed at contemporary English language spread.However,linguistic imperialism has been absorbed in language spread constructed by other empires.In this research,we are also to apply this theory to research Japanese language spread in the regions held by Wangjingwei and Huabei autonomous government.The ideas about status planning are capable of being applied to the research of the functions of Japanese in this area.The essential idea of Japanese course,the ambition of iingua franca' held by Japan will be illustrated for the analysis of functions of Japanese in these two regions.One conclusion is Japanese as a lingua franca in Asia.Another conclusion is that Japanese was no match with Chinese in status planning.Moreover,cultural ideology like 'cultural communication','cultural fusion' is going to be demonstrated.One ideology directly related to language is importantly demonstrated:An analysis of Chinese character culture.Also,the impact of this ideology on Japanese policy will be illustrated.Actions are bound to be taken when language planning and language policy are carried out,and when it comes to Japanese language spread in these regions,Huabei autonomous government and Wangjingwei government promoted Japanese language expansion by conventional and other means.Conventional means is school education,and two objects:general education and language education held by Japanese language schools will be divided.In the field of general education,a specification of this object will be carried out:primary and secondary Japanese education,and Japanese education held by normal schools.There is a more specific division under the procedure of language education:setting of courses,the sending and cultivation of language teachers,analysis of methods of teaching and language education books,and system of examination.Other than these parts,the consequences of Japanese speech are bound to be introduced.Finally,the effects of Japanese language spread is limited,which was anchored in the extra-linguistic factors.Linguistic hegemony is the core idea of the theory of linguistic imperialism.In fact,in vassalized regions,despite the fact that Japanese still did not prevail Chinese in status,it continued to be confronted with a rise in both status and function,by the reason of a purpose of Japanese expansion which was constructed by Japanese courses,and methods of language education and language management.In addition,with the pushing of process of Japanese invasion,the vassalized regions restricted the choices of foreign languages.The second part that is a further indication of language hegemony is that linguistic imperialism aims at social purposes,trying to realize and expand the inequalities in social structure.This is also true to the situations in vassalized regions,for Japanese language spread was not just language spread.This process had a far deeper goal,which was shown as a hegemony in cultural,economic and political fields.To achieve this,Japanese govermment and its vassals did not just earn a higher Japanese culture impacts by defaming the prestige of Western language and culture,but rather try to achieve an inequality in the status of nations by the expansion of Japanese culture and earning of social profits,'Inequality' is what linguistic imperialism tries to grab,which is also a core concept of this action and theory.Finally,based on historical linguistic imperialism conducted by colonial empires,and contradictory 'English hegemony,in the modem age,many issues are to be under serious consideration by different countries and regions in language spread.First,'images' should be thought,for linguistic imperialism refers to a negative image,if the history of Japanese linguistic imperialism is overviewed.To achieve a positive prestige of a language,institutions should not only care cultUre construction and spread.Economic and Political construction are also of great significance,for these factors play an important role in the viewing of value of languages.Apart from this,people's comments of languages,which was oriented from language planning system and language ideology as well as mixture of both,should also be strictly cared about.Finally,'nihilism' and 'ultra-nationalism' are two dangerous view of languages and cultures,which can contribute to a new linguistic imperialism.For this reason,the planners and learners should take high care of the two extreme views of languages and cultures.
