| The form is a table on a web page where information can be entered,but even if a good form is designed,an error will inevitably occur during user filling.The ability to provide error messages that are as simple as possible and quickly guide users to correct errors is an important aspect of form usability design.In the past,the traditional form er:ror message prompting methods of the web era mainly include embedded,pop-up and new page.With the development of mobile internet,more interactive forms suitable for mobile form error prompts,mainly Toast floating layer,Prompt dialog box,card type,dynamic type,and so on.There are a variety of error message prompts,but which one has the highest performance and best usability is a question worth exploring.This study selects the three most widely used interaction methods in the popular APPs in the current application market:embedded,pop-up and Toast floating layer for usability testing.Experiment 1 explores the performance,physiological state and subjective satisfaction of the three prompting methods of embedded,pop-up and Toast floating layer in the smart phone environment when completing the verification code form correction task.Experiment 2,based on the results of Experiment 1,explores the spatial dimension of the Toast floating layer error message,and compares the Toast prompt of this method to the top of the page,the center of the page,and the bottom of the page.Differences in performance,physiological status,and subjective satisfaction at the time of the task.The results of Experiment 1 show that when there is only one item of error,the embedded error message prompting method is used,and the user’s performance,emotional experience and subjective satisfaction are higher.When there are more than one error item,the difference between embedded and Toast floating layer performance is not significant,but the physiological index and subjective satisfaction of the floating layer prompt mode are better,and the pop-up type is both performance and satisfaction.Worst.The results of Experiment 2 show that the position of the floating layer type error prompt(top,center,bottom of the page)is not significantly different in the operation time,but as the number of error items increases,the error rate at the top of the page is higher.The user’s physiological indicators and subjective satisfaction are higher when located in the center of the page.Through the above research,the following conclusions can be drawn:When there is only one item of error,the embedded error message prompting method can be considered.When there are more than one item,it is recommended to use a floating layer prompt.Pop-up error prompts are not recommended.For the floating layer prompt mode,it is recommended to place the floating layer prompt in the center of the screen,and the experience is better.The significance of this research lies in the exploratory experiment of error message prompting on the touch screen mobile phone.In addition to the traditional embedded and pop-up prompt mode,the new floating layer prompt mode is also studied.Enriched the research results of the form error prompts.This study measures the availability of different error prompts from the three dimensions of performance,physiology and subjectivity,and can better illustrate the validity of the research results.It makes up for the lack of form usability research based on experience summary,and provides a new idea for form error prompt design. |
