Singing Skills And Character Creation In The Musical "Miss Saigon"

Musicals have a long history and a variety of plays.From Broadway musicals to today's musicals of various styles,their music characteristics and dramatic structure are worth our in-depth study.Miss Saigon,together with cats,The Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables,is regarded as one of the four major musicals.It is not only indispensable in the history of the creation of British musicals,but also plays an iconic role in the development of musicals throughout Europe.In the first chapter,the author elaborates on the content and creation background of the musical miss Saigon in combination with its historical significance.Centering on the research topic of "singing skills and role building of musical miss Saigon",the author focuses on the second and third chapters,taking the direction of singing form of musical as the introduction and combining with the drama structure to make a comprehensive presentation.In terms of singing skills,through two major sections-the first section,the narrative singing mainly singing form;The emotional expression in the second section,Sun and Moon,is explained in detail.In order to study the theme in a more comprehensive and in-depth way,the author will make a second creation based on my own experience,and combine the song of "Sun and Moon" in the play to express the narrative singing skills and emotional expression of the musical.In the chapter of role building in the third chapter,two psychological conflicts and four emotional catharsis are effectively extracted,and the role building of the whole work is summarized in chapter three by taking specific characters and singing as the entry point.In this way,the author completes the positioning of the play through the introduction of the play,the singing skills used and the shaping of the important characters in the play.At the same time,the author hopes to learn from the creation and performance of Chinese musicals and further promote the development and innovation of Oriental musicals.
