Numerals and nouns are the two very important content words in the modern Chinese language.Normally, numerals will be combined with quantifiers to modify nouns, but it is very common that numerals modify nouns directly in modern C hinese language.Based on predecessors' study, this article takes 'A+noun' structure as research object and tries to describe and explain in many different ways.We first state the reason of choosing this topic and meaning of research, identifies the research object and content, concludes domestic research status and introduces the research method and corpus resource. Then we analyze the structure from four parts:structure, the function of emotional expression, the referential function and the function of information transfer. In terms of structure,NP can be noun or noun phrases. It can combine with other words to be components of a sentence. It can also be subject, object, predicate and pivot. In terms of the function of emotional expression of "yi+NP" structure,"yi" can not be used to show quantity,it has the semantic feature of "slight, tiny",while NP has the semantic feature of connotation prominence. This structure has subjectivity and evaluativity. In terms of the referential function of "yi+NP" structure,"yi+NP" structure has nonreferential function,it highlights the connotation related to NP."yi+NP" structure also has referential function, including the indefinite function, nonspecific and individual function. In terms of the function of information transfer,NP can be the information focus and contrastive focus while "yi" can't.Besides,it shows the emotional attitude of speakers towards listeners, the other people and themselves,so that they can achieve their communicative purpose.
