Awe and hubristic pride are the two common emotions in the life, which play an important role in many fields, and have a very important influence on the behavior.Awe is a self-transcendence emotion, and awe is an emotional experience in the face of things that are vast,or beyond the scope of our cognition.Hubristic pride is a self-conscious emotion, one of the dimensions of pride, which is an emotional experience generated by an individual's internal, stable, and uncontrollable attribution of achievement events. There have been many studies on the relationship between awe and pro-social behavior in other countries, but there are still few studies on the relationship between awe and pro-social behavior in our country.Hubristic pride is also proved to be associated with negative behavior. In addition, the internal mechanism of the influence of the two emotions on the the pro-social behavior is not clear, and continuing the research on the influence of awe and hubristic pride to the pro-social behavior is an important research direction.Awe and hubristic pride can influence an individual's self-concept to a certain extent.Awe allows individuals to recognize themselves from a larger level that transcends themselves and acts as part of the whole human and natural world, thus increasing the individual's pro-social behavior;hubristic pride will enhance the individual's self-awareness,produce a sense of self-expansion and superiority, and act with egotism, thus reducing the individual's pro-social behavior. This paper explores the influence of awe and hubristic pride on pro-social behavior and its internal mechanism through three experiments.Studyl explores the influence of awe and hubristic pride on pro-social behavior from the personality tendency of individuals. The results people who easily feel awe in life will show more pro-social behavior, and people who are more likely to feel hubristic pride will show less pro-social behavior. In the pre-experiment,it was verified that the memory and writing method could activate the awe and hubristic pride of the subjects. In the study2,this method is used to induce awe and hubristic pride, and then explor the influence of two emotions on cooperative behavior, verifying the mediating effect of self-concept on cooperative behavior. The results show that self-concept does not play an intermediary role in the influence of awe on cooperative behavior, but plays a full intermediary role in the influence of hubristic pride on cooperative behavior. In the study3,altruistic behavior was used as a measure of pro-social behavior to explore the influence of awe and hubristic pride on altruistic behavior,as well as the mediating role of self-concept.As a whole, this study draws the following conclusions:(1)the individual with high dispositional awe will show more pro-social behavior, the individual with high dispositional hubristic pride will show less pro-social behavior;(2)in a state of awe,the individual's pro-social behavior increases, including cooperative behavior and altruistic behavior, while in the hubristic pride state, the individual's pro-social behavior decreases, including cooperative behavior and altruistic behavior;(3)Self-concept does not play an intermediary role in the influence of awe emotion on cooperative behavior, but plays a full intermediary role in the influence of awe emotion on altruistic behavior.Self-concept plays a full intermediary role in the influence of hubristic pride on cooperative behavior, and partly in the influence of hubristic pride on altruistic behavior. The internal mechanism of the influence of hubristic pride and awe on different types of pro-social behavior may be different. In this study, the effects of awe and hubristic pride on prosocial behavior were investigated by questionnaire and laboratory situation method. In the experiment, individual emotion was induced by recalling writing, and different situations were set to verify the influence of awe, hubristic pride on pro-social behavior, and the role of self-concept in these relationships. It provides a reference for further empirical research in related fields.
