The name of Johann Sebastian Bach(1685-1750)is like a Thunderbolt in 300 years of western music history.He is regarded as a founder of the European music and “father of music”.He is also an epoch-making figure of piano art history,whose “Preludes and Fugues”,which is regarded as “an Old Testament Bible” is the Peak branch of the keyboard music and the required course for piano learners and performers.“Preludes and Fugues” is a wonderful teaching material for the polyphonic technique training and very helpful for the improving of performing level.But they often make students afraid of their strong polyphonic.Some work even has both long length and complex departments.This essay is about to discuss the performance of polyphonic work by putting the example of “Preludes and Fugues BWV 891”,which exactly has long length and complex departments.This essay includes the detail discussing about the playing of themes and alignments,the dealing with departments,the performance of Terminate and climax,as well as the systematical relating to the details concerned with the performance such as the way of touch the keyboard,the independence of fingers,the choice of fingerings.We hope we will not be confused in playing Bach's polyphonic music any more so that we will easily close to him and find strong interests and deeply Philosophy in his work by this study and analysis.
