No language in the world is completely independent and self-sufficient.Every language borrows and influences each other with the need of communication.Liangshan Yi language belongs to the northern dialect of Yi language, mainly distributed in Liangshan Prefecture,Sichuan Province. After the democratic reform in Liangshan in 1953,due to the development needs of politics, economy, culture, education and science and technology, the communication between Yi and Han nationalities became more and more frequent.Various kinds of human social activities, such as people living together, dispersing, migrating and ethnic intermarriage, promoted the integration of languages, and more and more Chinese loanwords appeared in Yi language. The content of this paper is divided into four parts: Chapter 1,the definition of loanwords and their cultural origins. There are two types of free translation words: one is borrowing meaning and one-to-one morpheme translation of the original text, called morpheme free translation words, which are borrowed words;the other is the whole concept free translation of borrowed words only, and the word that uses new language materials for translation is called concept borrowing, not loan words. In addition, the first chapter also explores the social and cultural factors of Yi borrowing Chinese vocabulary from a historical perspective. In the second chapter, the borrowing ways, ways and semantic types of Chinese loanwords in Liangshan Yi language are classified and studied.Chapter three explores the changes of pronunciation and lexical meaning of loanwords after they enter the Yi language.Chapter Four analyses the influence of loanwords on the language and culture of the Yi people. From the perspective of contact linguistics, this paper regards"loanwords"(before, during and after borrowing)as a "dynamic diachronicprocess".That is to say,it probes into the cultural origin and evolution of Loanwords in history vertically, and also analyses the borrowing ways, semantic types and the far-reaching impact of loanwords on Yi language and culture horizontally.
