On account of history,geography,foreign trade,education,culture,religious faith and many other factors,Thai language absorbed amounts of loanwords by many kinds of manners.These loanwords came from Sanskrit,Pali,Khmer,English,French,Chinese,Portuguese,Japanese,Farsi,Burmese,Arabic,Mongol and Sinhalese.Sanskrit,Pali,Khmer and English are the major languages which impacted Thai a lot and became the indispensable element of Thai basic vocabulary,could also not be replaced.Although English loanwords were borrowed by Thai language in the last hundred years,English loanwords are widely used in contemporary Thailand,especially the vocabulary of modern science and technology which almost borrowed by transliterating in the new period.In addition to those tech-vocabulary,it does have many other daily vocabularies borrowed from English.For instance,(?)(fax),(?)(office),(?)(internet),(?)(projector),(?)(computer),(?)(sticker),(?)(strawberry)and etc.Because of English loanwords are taking a large proportion in all loanwords of Thai,Thai Chinese learners might be impacted during the loanword-acquisition.Based on the researches of the former scholars,this paper simply sorts out English loanwords in Thai language,for classifying and analyzing the impact while Thai Chinese learners learning the corresponding Chinese loanwords according to the merit and demerit of English loanwords in Thai language.Based on the above analysis,the author submits corresponding proposals in teaching which aim at Chinese loanwords(the corresponding part of English loanwords in Thai language)teaching for Thai Chinese learners.Subsequently,this paper will mainly give a study of this in from five chapters.The first chapter is introduction,including the research object,the research ideas and the research methods as well as the demarcation of English loanwords in Thai language and other related concepts.The second chapter expounds English loanwords in Thai language from absorbing history and absorbing manners these two aspects.The third chapter finds differences by analyzing the pluses and minuses of English loanwords in Thai language to Thai students’ Chinese vocabulary acquisition.The fourth chapter shows the teaching plan of English loanwords in CIBSRU and submits the correspondent teaching proposals.The last chapter is the brief summary of whole paper.Through analysis and research of this article,in the hope that Thai students could forwardly overcome negative transfer of native language while learning the corresponding part of English loanwords in Thai,and correctly handle Chinese loanwords.Beyond that,hopefully the research achievement of this paper could be of any help for Chinese vocabulary teaching and other relevant aspects. |
