The Distribution And Management Of Forest Resources In The Song Dynasty And The Advancement Of Forest Cultivation Techniques

The Song Dynasty was a period of great development in China's forestry industry.Due to the influence of economic and technological development,its forestry management system and the level of science and technology have been greatly improved.By examining the distribution of forest resources and their management systems in the Northern Song Dynasty and the Southern Song Dynasty,we can have a better grasp of the overall situation in forest resources.By discussing the forestry science and technology recorded in the monographs in the Song Dynasty,we can summarize the important position and role of the Song Dynasty in the development of Chinese forestry history.The text is divided into four parts:The first chapter mainly studies the distribution of forest resources in Song Dynasty.The distribution of forest resources in the Northern Song Dynasty and the Southern Song Dynasty was investigated in two ways.Firstly,the distribution of forest resources in the Song Dynasty is discussed from the forest contents in the map of Song Dynasty;Secondly,through the relevant records in the historical materials,the research on the forest resources in the administrative regions of Song Dynasty.According to the literature review,the forest resources of the Northern Song Dynasty are mainly concentrated in the northern Qinling Mountains,Taihang Mountains and southern Jiangnan hills,there are large areas of primary and secondary forests in Sichuan,Hunan,Guangdong,Guangxi and Fujian.Compared with the Northern Song Dynasty,the forest resources in the Southern Song Dynasty were significantly reduced,with Zhejiang,Jiangxi and Guangdong being the most important.The sharp decline in forest resources of Song Dynasty is related to the anomalous climate of the 12th century,but the more important reasons are war and human over-exploitation.The second chapter mainly studies the management of forest resources in Song Dynasty.By comparing the similarities and differences between the Northern Song Dynasty and the Southern Song Dynasty in the management of forest resources,summed up their respective characteristics.The forest management policy of the Northern Song Dynasty pays more attention to the policy guidance of the people,the Southern Song Dynasty focuses more on the targeted solution to practical problems;Both periods pay more attention to the protection of forest resources;The division of labor in the forestry organizations of the Northern Song Dynasty is more meticulous,but there have vacancy phenomena.The Southern Song Dynasty made some adjustments to the forestry institutions,but the effect was general,and the institutional setting was not as clear as the Northern Song Dynasty;The wood taxation system of the Southern Song Dynasty is more complete and perfect than the Northern Song Dynasty;The protection of forest resources in the Southern Song Dynasty is more mature than in the Northern Song Dynasty,and the protection of forest resources is more profound.The third chapter mainly studies forestry science and technology in the Song Dynasty.Through the records of the basic understanding of forest trees in the historical materials,science and technology on tree planting cultivation contained in the forest monographs of the Song Dynasty,it was a period of great development of forestry science and technology in China,and the forestry science and technology in the Song Dynasty reached a very high level.The level of influence on the future generations is far-reaching.
