A Report On The Translation Of Study On Sustainable Forest Management And Financing In China

This report is written on the basis of a Chinese-English translation project—Study on Sustainable Forest Management and Financing in China and the material takes the Section I of Chapter Ⅲ as the analytic text to present typical examples.This project leader mainly summarizes the four projects developed by the World Bank in China and analyzes the current situation and problems by comparing to propose improvement strategies in this section.In this report,the author takes the "faithfulness and smoothness" and "functional equivalence" of Dynamic Equivalence Theory as the general principle to discuss the translation methods of terminology,long sentences and non-subject sentences.This report is divided into five parts.This first part is an introduction.The second introduces translation tasks including background information of the translation material,text features,significance and requirements of the project.The third part describes the process of translation,including preparation of translation,translation process and translation correction.The fourth part,as the main part of the report,is case study.The author classifies difficult words and sentences as well as summarizes related translation methods from the perspective of word and sentence.The last part is the summary of author’s rethinking and enlightenments for further study.As a translation report,it is hoped that this project can provide valuable reference for forest practitioners and translators through this translation practice.
