The language of dance moves from "imagery" to "meaning",which can subtly convey the inner imagery that "it can be perceived but cannot be described with words".Chinese classical dance mobilizes the elements of physical movement to form a body language with a unique rhythm, expressing meaningful emotions and embodying the rhythm of life.Chinese classical dance manifests the traditional cultural spirit and aesthetic pursuit of the nation. The author believes that Chinese classical dance is not only a flowing painting, but also a silent poem, and although it is not expressed in the most direct and convenient language,it reveals the unique "idyllic imagery " of classical China everywhere. The dancer's body,as the unified whole of the subject and object, can generate not only direct strong emotions but also create imagery that is distinct from other art forms."The full expression of mind and emotion" is the purpose of "setting up imagery",and the actor's perception of the inner meaning of the work is the prerequisite for the successful shaping of the "imagery" during the specific performance. In teaching practice, the inspiration and guidance of imagery can effectively help actors to improve the artistry and aesthetics of image building. Therefore, this paper based on the proposition of "setting up imagery to fully express thoughts and feelings" aims to explore the training methods and meaning of the body ideographic function in performance practice, this paper uses the degree performance piece'Silent Poetry' as a practical component, the work is designed and choreographed in terms of the body ideographic function in classical Chinese dance, emphasizing the linguistic aspects of the actor's body in order to better express the deep meaning of the work's imagery.Through practical rehearsal and theoretical research,we analyze and study the importance of the body ideographic function, and the dancer's bodily feedback is used to explore the dancer's body ideographic training method during the performance practice.
