In Chinese and Vietnamese vocabulary,modifier-head compound words account for a large proportion,modifier-head two-syllable compound words account for the majority.From the perspective of the relationship between the roots and the roots of the formal double-syllable compound sounds in Chinese and Vietnamese,there are mainly three forms of definite center,reverse order definite middle and the middle.This paper will use analysis,description,comparison,investigation and other research methods to study and explore the three structural types and semantic features of Chinese-Vietnamese modifier-head disyllabic compound words,and find the similarities and differences between them.This paper is divided into six chapters:In the first chapter,this paper introduces the reason for choosing this topic,the research object,the research method,the significance of the research,the source of the materials,and the predecessor's formal research status of Chinese and Vietnamese.In the second chapter,we proceed from the actual situation of Chinese and Vietnamese modifier-head compound words,and refer to the definition of modifier-head compound words by predecessors,and re-scientifically define such compound words in these two languages.In the third chapter,we analyze and describe the structural types and semantic features of Chinese and Vietnamese modifier-head disyllabic compounds.In the fourth chapter,based on the analysis of the structure and semantic characteristics of the modifier-head disyllabic compound words in Chinese and Vietnamese,we will analyze and compare such compound words in the two languages,and find out the similarities and differences between them.In the fifth chapter,on the basic of clarifying of similarities and differences between Chinese-Vietnamese modifier-head compound words,we analyze the phenomenon of mother tongue transfer and design questionnaires of two types of modifier-head compound words,co-translation and reverse translation.By analyzing and collating the survey results,we find that the similarity between Chinese and Vietnamese modifier-head compound words is apt to cause positive migration of Vietnamese students;some Chinese and Vietnamese modifier-head compounds still have certain difficulties for Vietnamese students,so that Vietnamese students experience negative mother tongue transfer.In the sixth chapter,we will summarize the research process of the dissertation,and point out the innovations and deficiencies of the dissertation.At the same time,we have concluded the similarities and differences between Chinese and Vietnamese modifier-head compound words.Chinese and Vietnamese modifier-head compound words are basically the same in word formation,part of speech,and semantic characteristics,but there are also differences.The similarities cause positive migration for Vietnamese students studying Chinese,while the differences cause negative migration for students.On the basic of clarifying the similarities and differences of the modifier-head disyllabic compound words in between Chinese and Vietnamese and the phenomenon of mother tongue transfer of Vietnamese students,we will make suggestions for learners,teachers and researchers on learning,teaching and research.Therefore,this paper not only allows Chinese learners and researchers to better understand the characteristics of Chinese-Vietnamese modifier-head compound words,and speeds up the learning,mastery and application of Chinese-Vietnamese vocabulary,and also inspired and helped the future research and discussion of Chinese and Vietnamese vocabulary systems.
