Research On Stone Knives Unearthed In Guanzhong Area From Shang To Western Zhou Dynasty

Stone knives were an important production tool in the Neolithic period,but in the Shang and Zhou dynasties,stone knives were still unearthed in various sites,indicating that stone knives were also an important tool in people's production and life during the Shang and Zhou dynasties.There have been more systematic studies on stone knives in the Neolithic period,but there are fewer studies on stone knives unearthed in the Shang-Xi Zhou period,especially in the Guanzhong area during the Shang-Xi Zhou period.Therefore,on the basis of previous studies of stone knives,this paper conducts a comprehensive study of stone knives unearthed in the Guanzhong area from the Shang to the Western Zhou Dynasty.This article first summarizes and organizes the stone knives found in this space-time.Secondly,the archeological typology analysis of the stone knives in this space-time is first divided into two types based on the cross-section characteristics of the stone knives.The vertical cross-sections of Class A and the cross-sections of Class B are curved.Based on the typological research,the stone knives under a time and space are studied in stages.The stone knives unearthed in this time and space are divided into three phases,which further reveals the evolution of the stone knives under this time and space.Finally,this article also attempts to discuss the lithological characteristics,source of manufacturing materials,comparison with other material tools,and functional characteristics of stone knives unearthed in the Guanzhong area from the Shang to the Western Zhou Dynasty,so as to realize that the raw materials for the manufacturing of stone knives in this space-time came from Locally,the main function of this time-space stone knife is to harvest grain.In addition,it may also be used as a bone-making tool,a scraper for cooked leather,pottery utensils,and funeral items.
