In the middle of the sixth century,in the vicinity of the Altai Mountains,a tribe named Ashina began to rise. They merged with the Tiele divisions and defeated the Rouran Khaganate. They became the hegemons of the North and Central Asian prairies. Thus they established the Turkic nomadic empire.Later, due to the infighting between the rulers of the Turkic Khanate, and the policies adopted by the Sui Dynasty to weaken the strength of the Turkic, and many other factors, the strength of the Turkic Khanate began to decline, and many Mobei nomads, including the Turkic Khan family, the Ashina, constantly entering the Central Plains regime. When the Emperor Taizong of Tang destroyed the Eastern Turkic Khaganate,a large number of the Ashina entered the Tang Dynasty, and they were an important pillar in the process of opening up the territory in the Tang Dynasty. Therefore, this paper uses traditional historical materials, combined with epitaphs and other stone inscriptions,to explore the role of the Ashina in the political, military, social and other aspects of the Tang Dynasty. This paper is divided into four parts:introduction, theories, conclusion and appendix. There are three chapters in the theories. The first chapter focuses on the ancestry and lineage of the Ashina. In the traditional historical materials, the origins of the Ashina clan are as follows:descendants of the Xiongnu, descendants of the Suoguo and descendants of Pingliang Zahu. All of the above statements are one-sided,the Ashina's family actually combines the descent and culture of ethnic groups such as the Scythians, the Xiongnu, the Xianbei, and the Tiele, therefore, such contradictory claims will emerge in the legendary sources of their own claims and the legends collected by the Central Plains historians. And then after the ashina entered into the Tang Dynasty, because of their continuous sinicization, they changed their ethnic origins into Yu the Great in the epitaph. Finally, using the stone inscriptions such as the epitaph to sort out the lineage of the Ashina, and focus on the family lineages of Shi Danai and Chuluo Khagan,et cetera. The second chapter mainly studies the employment status, marital status, life and activity area of the Ashina in the Tang Dynasty. When they first entered the Tang Dynasty, they all served as military generals and generals in the Nanya Zhuwei or the Forbidden Army, but after several generations, their positions began to be diverse and mainly dominated by civil servants, among them are some middle and lower level civil servants who no longer enter the core of the Tang Dynasty's rule, and live and rise in the officialdom. And their marriage partners are beginning to move closer to the Han.After entering the Tang Dynasty, they experienced the Jingshihua of the residence and the cemetery, and also experienced the sinicization of their names and places. The third chapter discusses the relationship between the rise and fall of the Ashina and the political situation in the Tang Dynasty in the order of time. The Ashina plays an important role in the establishment of the Tang Empire, the development of territory, and the maintenance of internal stability. They participated in the battle of the Liaodong, settled the Liuzhouhu rebellion, settled the chaos of Anshi, and participated in the battle of Huaixi.and act as a messenger in the process of the Tang Empire's interaction with the surrounding ethnic groups, and did their best for the stability of the Tang Empire. The decline of the Ashina is indicating that their degree of sinicization is deepening. In the Tang Dynasty, the Ashina experienced a complicated and tortuous process of Chineseization in politics, society and culture, and they slowly integrated into the Han people in the case of surname Shi.
