The Spread And Acceptance Of Tang Poetry In Thailand

When it comes to the Chinese poetry that spread out and well-known in Thailand,we cannot reluctant to mention about Tang poetry.This is because in Thailand,the poetry in Tang dynasty is relatively spread out wider than the poetry in the other dynasty of China.It was the peak time of Chinese poetry development during Tang dynasty.There were many famous poets and poetry works that have been produced,and created a very profound impact on the culture of the neighboring countries of China.Thailand has no exception.In Thailand,there are greater numbers of poetry that were translated during Tang dynasty rather than the translation in the other dynasty of China.This paper aims to study three aspects included with the translation of Tang poetry in Thailand,its wide-spread and acceptance.Chapter one,the books of translated Tang poetry,there were nine books that were selected for analysis.The first book that was selected is Oui Boonyapat(Zhuang Mingwei)(one hundred Tang poetry was translated)in this part,the author describes the content of the book in brief,analyze the characteristics of selected Tang poems and the understanding of author over Tang poetry.The second one is Somphan Phromtha(The Autumn Wind Poems Of Li Bo),and who was translating thirty-eight poems of Li Bo into Thai.While describing the contents of this book,the author also analyzes the emotion of Li Bo,and analyzed the poetry which is the representative of all poems.Finally,explore Somphan Phromtha art of translation.The last six books have been done by Chotchuang Nadon Writers have collected many types of Tang poems in those books and gave comments on the works of many poets.The author analyzes the books of selected Tang poems which contain C hinese culture and art.Chapter two,discover the wide-spread of Tang poetry through different forms of media and how the role of promoting the poetry affect the acceptance of people towards the poetry.This section will distinguish the discussion of people that appear in the press?speech?website,etc.The wide-spread of poetry by various media and the poets point of views and evaluation.Chapter three,Introducing Thai scholars,Suphatchai Watthanaphan who wrote(The History of Chinese Literature),and discuss about the contents of the history of Chinese literature written in the book.Also discuss about the opinions and evaluation of Thai academia over the Tang Dynasty Literature.In conclusion,Tang poetry is the favorite poems of Thai people.
