This paper focuses on middle-aged and elderly people and their suitable teaching methods of ballroom dance.The research question driving this study is: What is the teaching method of ballroom dance suitable for middle-aged and elderly people in community college?Based on the attention to the middle-aged and elderly groups,this study focused on the community college,and explored and learned the dance education methods of the middle-aged and elderly people's national standard dance through the form of the experience class taught by researchers.In order to spread and attract middle-aged and elderly people to receive formal,scientific dance education.And in the use of teaching methods to implement the idea of peopleoriented,from the student-oriented approach to understand the teaching needs of middle-aged and elderly students,further explore the dance teaching methods suitable for this group.It is expected that through this study,it will provide a feasible scheme for the construction of national ballroom dance teaching methods for the elderly,which may help solve the physical health problems of the elderly in China.This study adopted the research paradigm of qualitative research and narrative investigation,and collected data through experimental teaching,semi-structured interview and video recording.Use the subject analysis method to collate and interpret the data.The main findings are: the occasional use of dialect can promote the active teaching activities;The correct and slow model method may be the preferred teaching method for students in community senior college.The decomposition of the movements may be helpful to the shaping of the movements of the middle-aged and elderly students.Positive language evaluation can promote the learning enthusiasm of middle and old people.Performance and discussion of teaching methods may have positive significance for dance teaching activities;The method of repeated practice has both advantages and disadvantages.Teachers should make appropriate adjustments in the arrangement of teaching methods and teaching contents.
