On The Aesthetic Thought Of Light And Its Expression In Art During The Renaissance

Light is a very important aesthetic category,but also an element that very easy to be ignored.Light can be either the light seen by the naked eye or the symbolic light in the abstract sense.There are traces of light in philosophy,theology,literature,art and painting.Light contains rich aesthetic thoughts.Renaissance is an important period of social transition and concept innovation in history.With the rapid development of literature and art,the idea of light has condensed many unique aesthetic connotations.This paper takes the aesthetic thought of light in the Renaissance as the research object,discusses its different aspects,summarizes the aesthetic theory of light,and summarizes the embodiment of the aesthetic meaning of light in art.This paper consists of three parts.The first part focuses on the invisible light,that is,the sanctity of the light.The second part discusses the visible light,that is,the physics of the light.The third part focuses on the humanistic characteristics of light in the Renaissance.The sanctity of light refers to the symbolism and metaphysics of light in literature and art,which are beyond the scope of physics and reality.This kind of light symbol is transcendent and noble.It is an image with certain theological color.It is manifested in two aspects:first,light is the revelation of divinity.Light usually appears as a symbol of God.The manifestation of God and the holy baby is light.The function of light is to show the brilliance of divinity.Second,light is the form of the divine universe and the means of generating the order of the divine universe.The physical nature of light is the theoretical connotation of objective and physical visible light.Some concrete physical images of light also represent certain symbolic connotations,namely,sun,fire and lamp,which are further extensions of light aesthetics.The sun symbolizes lighting up the front,guiding the direction,representing strength and vitality.Fire is the light of the ground.It symbolizes the burning and rebirth of everything.It also symbolizes the guidance of light.Lamp is man-made light.The faintness of candle light often symbolizes the fragility of life.On the other hand,the scientific research on light and vision in the Renaissance was more mature,which promoted the understanding of perspective and directly led to the change of art and painting techniques.The perspective painting method is gradually improved.The application of light made great achievements in Renaissance art.The humanity of light is that it can show the beauty of human body,the harmony of nature,and the integrated beauty of man and nature as a whole.At the same time,the light renders atmosphere,foils emotion,depicts complex and profound human nature,and eulogizes the greatness of human nature.The humanity of light is the praise of human life,the affirmation of human value and the recognition of human sublimity.
