Kaiyuan, located in the northeast of Liaoning in the Ming Dynasty, was a frontier position against Mongolia and Jurchen. At the beginning of the Ming dynasty, the Ming Dynasty implemented the guard station system, which simultaneously controlled the military and administrative functions of the Kaiyuan region. The characteristics of the military officer system of the original health center in the early Ming Dynasty ensured that the system of the military office in the early Ming Dynasty performed its important functions. After the mid-Ming Dynasty, with the increase of pressure on the northern border defense, the Ming Dynasty Kaiyuan Health Center system could not cope with complex military operations. The town garrison system was gradually improved in Kaiyuan.During the period of orthodoxy,Kaiyuan ginseng will be the main participant of Kaiyuan 's military functions;in Jiajing period,Kaiyuan 's town garrison level was upgraded to deputy. The military garrison system in Kaiyuan Town played a more prominent role in military operations, while the system of health centers was now shifting to administrative-oriented logistics management responsibilities. In addition to embodying the transformation of the Ming Dynasty's overall military system, the Kaiyuan military officer system in the Ming Dynasty also demonstrated the local characteristics of the Kaiyuan region in the Ming Dynasty.Kaiyuan military officials include a large number of Jurchen military officials. The system of appointing Jurchen military officials in the Ming Dynasty is a unique embodiment of the Ming Dynasty military officials system in Kaiyuan, and is of great significance for understanding the Ming Dynasty's border policies.
