Since the reform and opening up,many modern and contemporary Chinese music theorists and composers have been exploring how to ingeniously combine traditional Chinese culture with contemporary composition techniques,and how to make our national music culture conform to modern aesthetics while retaining our national tradition.Yang Liqing(1942.4-2013.6),as an outstanding contemporary Chinese composer,music theorist,and educator,has had a profound impact on both the research and exploration of Chinese composing technology theory and music creation practice in the 20 th century.This thesis takes the last piece of Chinese contemporary composer Yang Liqing's later years as a case study ——--Impression of Mu Qam,cello concerto,considering the special creative background of this work,the distinctive structural form and the characteristics of music language,At the same time of analysis,a multi-angle analysis of the work is combined with the research perspectives and ideas of music history,music structure,and music aesthetics.Firstly,based on the integration and sorting out of historical documents,this paper expounds the present situation and research ideas of this topic,and clarifies the influence of the important nodes in Yang Liqing's past creative process on his use of music language,as well as Yang Liqing's own creative thinking and creative practice complement each other,and summed up the general similarities in the past creation,leading to the "Muqam Impression",from the overall grasp of Yang Liqing's creative "commonness",with a view to exploring the "individuality" of "the impression of Muqam",secondly,through the different directions of composing techniques and theories,the author gives a detailed explanation of the work from different dimensions and different levels,mainly from the perspectives of rhythm,pitch,Timbre and dynamics,then it generalizes and summarizes the self-configuration of each musical element and the logical relationship between them.Finally,it concludes that this work embodies Yang Liqing's creative thinking as well as the inspiration to Chinese contemporary music creation.
