Hao Jing was a well-known Confucian scholar and ideologist in the late Ming Dynasty.He wrote extensively throughout his life and achieved great achievements.He was praised by scholars in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty.Zhouli Wanjie was one of Hao Jing's etiquette works,which embodied Hao Jing's understand of Zhouli,had an important position in the history of the study of Zhouli in the Ming Dynasty.Today,there is not much research on Zhouli Wanjie.Therefore,it is necessary to conduct an in-depth study of Hao Jing's Zhouli Wanjie.During the period of studying and being an official,Hao Jing was both influenced by the atmosphere of family learning,and encouraged by his teacher and confidant,constantly absorbing and accumulating knowledge,which established his academic broadness and profound knowledge of etiquette.When he resigned,he was fully devoted himself to the pursuit of academia.He annotated classics,internalized and exported the previous knowledge,and explored on a new path of academic research.Zhouli Wanjie was created at this stage.The Ming Dynasty officials put more emphasis on Zhouli,and scholars had more discussions on Zhouli,which provided certain social conditions for the writing of Zhouli Wanjie.At the same time,Zhouli Wanjie reflected Hao Jing's own academic pursuit.He had his own views on Zhouli.These reasons prompted Hao Jing to complete the book of Zhouli WanjieZhouli Wanjie includes three parts: Du Zhouli,Zhouli Guanzhi Shilu,and the main body.Du Zhouli was the main outline of Zhouli Wanjie,Zhouli Guanzhi Shilu records the official system.The main text was displayed with the text of Zhouli,then annotation,and finally notation.The content was complete,the style was clear,and the layout was reasonable.There has several controversial points about Zhouli,such as the author and age of Zhouli,the nature of Zhouli,Dongguan and Kao Gongji.Hao Jing studied these issues.Firstly,Hao Jing believed that Zhouli was not written by Zhou Gong and was compiled in the Liuguo period.Secondly,Hao Jing believed that Zhouli is not only "Ritual",but also Zhouli is not "Jing",but because the author is not far away,so Zhouli also has considerable research value.Finally,Hao Jing believed that Dongguan had not died,but was scattered in the other five parts to imitate the five elements.Kao Gongji and other five parts constitute the complete content of Zhouli.It can be seen that Zhouli Wanjie was influenced by the suspicious thoughts of the Song,Yuan,and Ming.At the same time,it also proposed many unique insights.The discussion of related issues in Zhouli lead to a deeper perspective,and also provided a more methodological perspective for the continued discussion of Zhouli.Zhouli Wanjie showed distinctive features in the interpretation of Zhouli.Firstly,ZhouliWanjie focused on dredging the original text,and the annotations was concise and easy to understand,making the book easy to popularize.Secondly,criticism of notion of Zhengxuan showed that Hao Jing was not superstitious about authority and had personal thoughts on Zhouli,which also injected new vitality into the study of Zhouli in the late Ming Dynasty.Thirdly,the pros and cons elaborated on the significance of the division of duties of Zhouli,and pointed out its reference significance for reality.Fourthly,Zhouli Wanjie demonstrates the effort to link the classics and return to the classics by way of quoting classics.Hao Jing had a unique life and academic experience.Zhouli Wanjie had rich content,clear style,and reasonable layout.Most of them had new ideas and obvious personal interpretation features,which reflected Hao Jing in-depth thinking of Zhouli,played an important role in the development of Zhouli in the Ming Dynasty.
