"Appropriation" is an important means of creation in photographic expression,as well as an art form that embodies "possession and dialogue".Richard Prince is one of the representative artists who use "appropriation" for creative expression.This paper investigates the case of "appropriation" in Prince's photographic creation by collecting and organizing materials.Through case study,comparative study and other methods,analyzes the ways of "appropriation" in different series of works in his creation.Summarizes the characteristics of "appropriation" strategy in his classic to recent creation.Discusses the personality characteristics and typical significance of Prince's application of "appropriation",the ways and strategies in photographic expression.Explores the value and significance of "appropriation" in contemporary photographic artistic expression.Faced with a large number of images and symbols in the current cyberspace and real life,this paper pondered on how to express "appropriation" and responded to the problem of what attitude and strategy to choose in the creation of " appropriation ".If in a playful satire and critical attitude towards the image,or use a pull-away attitude and watched to it.This paper also to find the "appropriate" design way of Richard Prince,is how to remove and rebuilding the context of the works,he through the "collection" interpretation and uses the "curation" way to expression.This paper focuses on Prince's "collector" identity,and find the "disassembling" feature of his "appropriation" from,discusses Prince's strategy of the "collection" attitude to deviates from the context of the original image,reflects on his own possession and reinterprets the connotation of the image,formd his own unique "appropriation" creation style."Appropriation" dispels the concept of "originality",but it also reflects the unique identity and personality of different artists,by choosing different ways.Although photography maybe never has reflected the reality,but it has always reflected the artists choices.
