English reading,as an important input,is not only an important part of junior high school English classroom teaching,but also plays a very important role in the high school entrance examination.The "General Junior High School English Curriculum Standards" promulgated in 2017 put forward the four major literacy of English subject around the concept of "discipline core literacy"-language ability,cultural character,thinking quality and learning ability.While learning English reading well will play a vital role in the cultivation of core literacy for junior high school students,but the current situation of junior high school English reading teaching is not so satisfactory.Mind mapping is a kind of application tool,which can visualize the abstract activity of human's thinking process,sort out and present it by means of concreting things such as colors,figures and key words,which is beneficial for people to improve their grasp,analysis,memory and creation of knowledge.The application of mind map in language reading teaching has a positive effect on improving students' language learning ability and language memory ability,as well as the improvement of their comprehensive ability.There are many researches and applications of mind mapping abroad,especially in the field of education.Although mind mapping software has been introduced into our country,it has not been widely used,and there are not many related researches.The research on the application of mind mapping in middle school English reading teaching is even blank.Middle school period is a critical period for students to learn the second language.The introduction of efficient teaching tools and methods is of great significance.Based on this,this study chooses junior high school students as the research object,and discusses the positive effect of mind mapping on the teaching of English reading in junior high school.This paper attempts to make full use of mind mapping tools to stimulate students' interest in English learning and improve their English reading and learning ability.This paper analyzes the importance of reading comprehension in English learning from multiple perspectives.Through the review of the existing literature,this paper analyzes the definition of mind mapping,schema theory and double coding theory.This paper selects two classes taught by the author as samples,introduces the mind mapping tool into the teaching practice,and through empirical analysis,discusses the positive influence of the English reading teaching with the participation of the mind map tool on the improvement of students' English reading ability and the cultivation of their independent learning ability.Using the method of experimentation and theoretical analysis,this paper concludes that the long-term use of mind map in junior school English reading teaching is conducive to students' enthusiasm and interest in English learning.It is more popular than the traditional teaching method and it can get better teaching effect.Finally,the author summarizes the key points of this study and reflects on the limitations of this study,and gives suggestions for the application of mind map in junior high school English reading teaching.
